Description

Fish ova disinfectant specifically formulated for use in Aquaculture facilities. The neutral pH of the solution allows for an effective disinfection without damaging the eggs, while the coloration of the solution allows for the monitoring of its germicidal activity. Buffodine® is  totally biodegradable, water stable and harmless. Recommended for the effective disinfection of freshly fertilized or eyed ova. Effective against main viruses, bacteria and fungi. Specially recommended against Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis (IPN), Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia (VHS), Infectious Hematopoietic Necrosis (IHN), Yersinia ruckeri (ERM), furunculosis (Aeromonas salmonicida), Bacterial Kidney Disease (BKD), Gyrodactilus salaris and Myxosoma cerebralis.

Ingredients

Iodine, sodium iodide, C13-15 alcohol ethoxylate, sodium sulfate, sodium dihydrogen orthophosphate, disodium hydrogen orthophosphate, water.

Usage Recommendations

Disinfection of freshly fertilized ova: wash the fertilized eggs with a solution of 9 parts of salt in 1.000 parts water (90 g of salt in 10 L) until the eggs are clean. Dissolve 9 parts of salt in 1.000 parts water (90 g in 10 L) and add 10 parts Buffodine® (100 mL). Mix completely. Immerse eggs and wash in disinfectant solution for 10 minutes. Rinse carefully 4 or 5 times in the saline solution. Incubate.

Disinfection of eyed ova: Prepare a solution of 10 parts Buffodine® in 1.000 parts of water (100 mL in 10 L). Immerse the eggs in this solution during 10 minutes. Rinse carefully 4 or 5 times in clean water and incubate.

Additional information

Buffodine® solutions should be used immediately after preparation. Discard used solutions by pouring on drains and not on water courses leading to aquaculture stations or untreated waterways.
